Angelo Zoli Shotgun Restored

Take a look at this rifle. Rusted barrel, bleached and bend wood. This is not what you want in your safe. It’s a Angelo Zoli shotgun which deserves better.

It’s a over under shotgun made in Italy in Calibre 12. Apparently the weapon was stored in a very humid place and not looked after.

So we take it apart and treated the barrel and other parts against rust. In the accompanying picture rust is clearly visible.

The forehand was steamed and then bent into shape. After drying the wood was sanded and the chequering accentuated and cleaned. After which we treated the wood with several coats of tru-oil to give it an semi gloss finish.

The metal parts were treated with oil and a polish before assembling.

It definitely looks a lot better then before.
